Oscar L. Squire

I am very interested in accounting and financial opportunities. I have successfully managed the accounting process, directed staff, and set policy for ensuring effective and efficient financial reporting through timely monthly general ledger closings in many different business environments. I am including some specific points in consideration of services I can provide to enhance any organization.

My most recent experiences, reflecting the diverse environments I am capable of working, have included providing financial and accounting services to Preventive Measures a mental health provider, managing the business operation for the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Allentown, and managing accounts receivable for an Electric Utility and a Pipeline company. In all these separate experiences, I have effectively implemented strategies for financial controls framework facilitating sound financial reporting.

I also have managed project and manufacturing costs utilizing my skills in general ledger, project management, knowledge of GAAP, strong Excel and MS Office applications, to increase profits and protect assets. Specific activities included make-good analysis of on-site businesses, establishing cost controls, conducting physical inventories, reconciling work-in-process inventories, monthly financial reporting, and preparing annual operating expense budgets.

I received my Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pennsylvania and earned a Certification in Controls Self-Assessment (CCSA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). My passion for accounting and finance has taken me on a journey covering the varied industries of Graphics/Textiles, Industrial Chemicals and Gases, and Energy. This journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania.
